Non-GMO

A GMO, or genetically modified organism, is a plant, animal, microorganism or other organism whose genetic makeup has been modified in a laboratory using genetic engineering or transgenic technology. This creates combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and virus genes that do not occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding methods.

From the seed, through the growing process and harvest, transportation, collection, storing and processing to the market channel, we offer independent certification of the quality management systems. Certification also includes the verification of legal requirements relating to the labeling and traceability of GMOs.

Based on EU regulations concerning non-GMO, including Directive 2001/18/EC and regulations 1829/2003 and 1830/2003, our standard can be applied to all processes in the supply chain:

  • Seed supply
  • Farming
  • Trading
  • Processing

As well as services to the supply chain:

  • Storage
  • Transport
  • Sampling and analysis

Operators achieving certification will be subject to annual surveillance audits to ensure that compliance is maintained.

Non-GMO supply chain certification does not replace compliance with national and international regulations.
